“Toot You Own Horn”

19 Mar

Why does the saying go “Toot Your Own Horn?” Do we really have horns? I don’t and I don’t want them either.

Why do righteous people use the terminology? When you look at the meaning, what’s godly in it? God wants to be humble.

To brag about one’s own talents, is this the same as to point out positive truths about oneself? I don’t think so. Positive truths about myself, I read well. Bragging – I’m the best reader ever. Do you think the two are the same?

Please weigh in.

“For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted” (John 14:11).
